Kate Herzog ’09 MBA Memorial Fund

Your generosity honors the memory of Kate Herzog and supports the Fowler Business Concept Challenge.

Kate Herzog smiles into the camera. She’s posing in front of a display of colorful woven baskets stacked on shelves and hanging from ropes.

Kate Herzog taught herself to read at age 10 as a young girl in Ghana, West Africa. It was full speed ahead after that, and her desire to give back and empower others to succeed is what fueled her work in her business and in life.

She founded House of Talents in the final weeks of her MBA program at the University of St. Thomas. House of Talents' mission seeks to alleviate poverty by connecting artisans in developing countries worldwide, so that artisans can build the lives they envision for themselves. By connecting the resource-poor to those with access to resources, House of Talents strives to bridge the inequitable distribution of wealth.

Gifts to the Kate Herzog '09 MBA Memorial Fund support the Fowler Business Concept Challenge, which Kate judged. The Challenge uplifts St. Thomas students' entrepreneurial spirit through a competition that gives students the opportunity to showcase their business ideas to real business leaders in the community.

I attended St. Thomas for an education and left with a family.
