Before joining St. Thomas, Mike served eight years as VP for Advancement for the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence in Minneapolis.
Mike has more than 30 years of leadership expertise in advancement for non-profit and for-profit organizations such as the University of Minnesota and the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. He has secured more than $300 million in capital, endowments and operational support for diverse organizations, including educational institutions, churches, foundations and government and community organizations.
Mike, his wife Danette, and their twin 19-year-old daughters, Elizabeth and Alanna, enjoy volunteering at their parish, Our Lady of Grace Catholic in Edina, as well as at the St. Lawrence Newman Center in Minneapolis. Mike serves as the secretary-treasurer for St. John Paul II Catholic School in northeast Minneapolis.
A graduate of St. John's University, Mike's "Tommie ties" include a grandfather who is a Tommie graduate, a brother, Joe, an attorney who teaches occasionally in the St. Thomas School of Law and a niece who is a School of Law graduate.
Mike and his family live in Bloomington, MN. Hobbies include spending time outdoors with family – fly fishing, biking, running and visiting the stables of their horse, Mariposa.
