The Schoenecker Center is a state-of-the-art hub where students connect across disciplines and grow as scholars, innovators and leaders.
The Schoenecker Center is a state-of-the-art hub for interdisciplinary learning, where science, technology, engineering, arts and math come together to spark creativity and innovation. Here, students gain the resources and collaborative spaces they need to explore diverse perspectives and tackle today's most complex challenges.
At the University of St. Thomas, we prepare principled leaders to advance the common good by combining academic rigor with hands-on experiences that respond to the rapidly changing needs of communities and employers.
The careers of tomorrow don't exist today — but at the Schoenecker Center, students gain the creativity, curiosity, and adaptable problem-solving skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
By breaking down silos between traditionally separate disciplines, the Schoenecker Center fosters flexible thinking and empowers students to connect ideas in new and meaningful ways.
Our new Schoenecker Center and the creative academic collisions that occur within its walls put St. Thomas in a unique position to be a leader in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) education. The learning that takes place in the Schoenecker Center fuses creativity, innovation, and flexible thinking by eliminating silos between traditionally separate academic departments. Here, physics and music students can come together to learn about the science behind acoustics. Art and engineering studies can overlap as students select the best raw materials to bring their visions to life. Supporting this collaborative hub provides a powerful link between art and science.
Spanning more than 130,000 square feet, the five-story facility houses musical performance and rehearsal spaces, an art gallery, engineering high bay, science labs and collaboration galleries. It also includes an emerging media newsroom and robotics lab.
The Schoenecker Center reshapes the liberal arts foundation with interdisciplinary learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
The vision of our lead donors made the Schoenecker Center possible. Their generosity inspires innovation and student success.
